To stop email notifications do the following:

- click My Account on the right side of the menu bar (if you are on full browser, in the back pocket section of the Mobile Friendly menu)

- select "Notification Preferences"

- uncheck "send me Email Notifications"

If you do this then you will no longer receive emails. However, you can tell you have notifications on both full browser and email by seeing a red number in the upper right corner of your browser window. If you click on the number, you will be taken to a list of notifications which will be highlighted (bluish) if there are items which you haven't looked at since you last looked at your notification list. You can click on the highlighted text to be transported (in a new browser window) to the artifact (topic, election, checklist) which has been updated.

You can also go to the menu item Back Pocket - My Notifications to see the list of notifications that you have. If they are highlighted that means you did not see them the last time you visited this page (My Notifications). As above, clicking on hypertext will transport you to the item referenced in the list.
