<p>If you've just purchased an App from the BlueJean Time App Store, read "<a href="https://www.bluejeantime.com/cloud/go.do?refid=965" target="_blank">After You've Purchased your App</a>" in addition to this Topic to learn more about your purchase and what to do next.</p> <h2>Quick Tutorial</h2> <p>A BlueJean Time Place allows a Place owner to invite members to have private access to the information and Apps that are or become available in the place.  When a Place is created by the place owner, immediately the owner has access to the following Apps (no subscription actions necessary):</p> <ul> <li>Topics - create topics and share ideas with Place members</li> <li>Elections - allow Place members to vote on ideas proposed by any of the Place members</li> <li>Checklist - create and track plans where work can be assigned to any Place member</li> <li>Files - upload and get feedback on your Word, Powerpoint, Excel or other files you may wish to share with Place members</li> <li>Place Calendar - publish events which will only be visible to the members of your Place</li> </ul> <p>For now let's just learn how to do 2 things: 1) find a place and 2) create a place.  </p> <p>To find a place, do the following:</p> <ol> <li>Click the "Places" dropdown on the light gray menubar</li> <li>If you see the place you seek then click it and you're done.  If not, at the bottom of the list, click More...</li> <li>More... will provide a search list of places where you can enter a search string for the Place you seek in the Place Name search field and click search</li> <li>When you find you place in the list, click on the place name which will be blue which indicates it's clickable</li> <li>You are done.  You should be in the place looking at the Place Feed for the place.  You have the option of clicking on an item in the feed or looking for a specific artifact (Topic, Election, Checklist or File in the Place.</li> </ol> <p>If you have purchased a feature App like <a href="https://www.bluejeantime.com/cloud/go.do?refid=1" target="_blank"><strong><em>Timekeeper</em></strong></a> or <strong><em><a href="https://www.bluejeantime.com/cloud/go.do?refid=958" target="_blank">My To-Do List</a>,</em></strong> you can find it by clicking the Apps menu while in that place and you will find your purchased App (any member of the place configured to use the App will see it in the Apps dropdown).  This will be described in better detail in <a href="https://www.bluejeantime.com/cloud/go.do?refid=965" target="_blank">After You've Purchased your App</a></p> <p> </p> <p>To create a place, do the following:</p> <ol> <li>Click the "Places" dropdown on the menu bar</li> <li>Click "Create Place"</li> <li>Fill in "Place Name" on the form.  The other required field "Start Date" defaults to the current day</li> <li>Click Save</li> <li>YOU ARE DONE!  Congratulations!  You've now created a private intranet for your organization.</li> </ol> <p>After completing these steps the system will present links which allow you create some of the items described above.  Additionally, you will now be able to subscribe to additional business apps which appear in the BlueJean Time App store.</p> <p><strong>NOTE: When content is created in a private place, the following is true</strong></p> <ol> <li>Global Feeds will only show those place activities to Place Members, other community members will not see it in their Global Feeds</li> <li>Place Feeds for this private Place will only be available to members of this Place</li> <li>Non-members won't have a way to even search for these places because they won't show in their Place search results</li> </ol> <p>Have fun!</p>
